2007 February. National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. The Cutting Edge, Scotlands Contemporary Crafts.

Yvonne Smith and Joe Boyle are pleased to announce that they are one of twenty four craftspeople invited to participate in this important touring exhibition.

The purpose of this group exhibition is to present and showcase the very best Contemporary Scottish Craft from some of Scotland`s finest contemporary and innovative makers, to the widest possible audience.

The exhibition will initially open in Edinburgh and tour to Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Ayrshire, and possibly then go on to tour nationally and internationally

 

2005 September 18-19 Glasgow Doors Open Day Weekend. Glasworks have been active participants and supporters of Doors open day since relocating to our city centre studio complex in 2002.
Apart from studio talks and tours, this years event will include a photorgaphic architectural exhibition by web based Glasgow Detail in our Gallery space.

Bill Burke of Rose-wine.com will discuss hand-made glass working techniques and the art and science applied to creating Austrian Riedel stemware.
Informal and informative talks on glass and equipment by Pearsons-Hetley, one of the oldest glass and equipment suppliers in the UK.
Stained glass historian Michael Donnelly will give a talk on Glasgow’s stained glass between 3-4pm on Sun.

Set of six leaded, painted, stained and acid-etched windows in public bar area on two street elevations depicting the life of an island family caught up in the highland clearances, and their subsequent arrival in Glasgow. Fused glass wall lights, public bar. each window 2x1 metre.

For Gaming room :-- 2  Leaded and copper-foiled glass wall panels, figurative and landscape., Arts and Crafts design. Each  set  being a triptych, with each section comprising of over 1,000 individual pieces of glass in each panel. Each triptych  comprising  of  over 3,000 individual pieces of glass. Two free-standing contemporary acid--etch  and leaded-glass walls as main features of Post Modern Atrium courtyard. Two walls measuring approx. 10` High  x  36` Long  each.
